Selection Process: Step-by-Step
The Central Bank of
India follows a strict multi-stage selection process to recruit Specialist
Officers.
Here is exactly how the bank will select the final candidates:
Step
1: Online Written Examination
·
All eligible candidates must first
appear for an online objective test.
·
The exam consists of 75 questions carrying 100
marks, with a total duration of 90 minutes.
·
The Best Part: There is absolutely NO negative marking for
wrong answers!
·
Qualifying Marks: Candidates must score at
least 50% (General/EWS) or 45% (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD) to pass this stage.
Step
2: Shortlisting for Interview
·
Merely passing the exam or satisfying
eligibility criteria does not guarantee an interview call.
·
The bank will shortlist successful candidates based
on their online test scores and call them for the next stage.
Step
3: Personal Interview
·
Shortlisted candidates will face a
Personal Interview, which carries a total of 100 marks.
·
Qualifying Marks: Just like the written
exam, candidates need to score a minimum of 50% (General/EWS) or 45%
(SC/ST/OBC/PwBD) in the interview to stay in the race.
Step
4: Final Merit List Generation
· The final selection is not just based on the
interview. The bank calculates the final score by giving a 70:30 weightage to the
Online Written Examination and the Personal Interview, respectively
· Tie-Breaker Rule: If two or more candidates
end up with the exact same final score, the candidate who is senior in age
(older) will be placed higher on the merit list
Step
5: Document & Biometric Verification
·
Selected candidates will undergo
biometric and/or Iris verification
· They must produce all original educational,
experience, and caste validity certificates
·
Crucial Condition: The applicant must have a
minimum Credit Information Company (CIC) score of 650 with no visible
credit defaults at the time of document verification
Step
6: Medical Fitness & Final Appointment
·
Finally, the appointment is subject
to the candidate being declared medically fit by a Chief Medical Officer or
Civil Surgeon
· Once cleared, the candidate will be appointed on a
probation period of two years

small errors that lead to their applications getting rejected. Make sure to
avoid these 6 common mistakes:

3. Submitting multiple applications: Do not submit more than one application. If you do, only the latest completed application will be retained, and the fee paid for the previous ones will be forfeited
4. Pressing 'Back' or 'Refresh' during payment: While your payment is
processing, do not press the back or refresh button on your browser, as this
can result in a double charge or a failed transaction
5.
Making
mistakes before final submission:
Take your time to review everything. Absolutely no
changes, modifications, or corrections are permitted after you click the
