Apply Online for Class I Posts (Detailed Notification OUT
Hello friends, welcome back to Sathya_jobAlerts.
The wait is over. The Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA) has officially released the
detailed recruitment notification (Advertisement No.: DR-15) for the direct
recruitment of various Class I Officer posts.
Welcome to Sathya_jobAlerts. Getting a Class I post in a
major port authority is a highly respected, incredibly stable, and lucrative
career move. Now that the detailed PDF is out, I have analyzed every single
line—from the massive salary structures to the exact exam patterns. I will
break down all the available details, eligibility criteria, and my personal
advice on how to tackle this recruitment. Let’s dive in!
🔥 Sathya's Personal
Opinion: Why You MUST Target This Job
My dear aspirants, Class I Officer posts are equivalent
to Group 'A' Gazetted ranks. This is a golden opportunity.
·
The Massive Salary: We are talking about basic pay
starting at Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 60,000. The total in-hand emoluments will be
approximately Rs. 94,500 to Rs. 1,13,000 per month plus HRA!
·
My Strategy Advice: Many out-of-state students see
"Mumbai" and do not apply. But notice the exam pattern below! Except
for the Welfare Officer posts (which require Marathi), the other posts have a
standard banking/SSC style syllabus (Quant, Reasoning, English, General
Awareness). If you have the required degree, do not hesitate. The competition
will be lower than national-level exams. Book your tickets to Maharashtra and
give this your 100%!

9. Frequently Asked
Questions (FAQs)
Q1: What
is the exact selection process for these Class I posts?
Answer:
Candidates must first appear for an objective Online Examination. Shortlisted
candidates will then be called for Document Verification and an Interview
(worth 30 marks). The final selection is based on overall performance in the
exam and interview.
Q2: Will there be negative marking in the online exam?
Answer: Yes. A negative marking of one-fourth (1/4)
of the marks allotted for each question will be deducted for every wrong
answer.
Q3: Do I need to know the Marathi language to apply?
Answer: Knowledge of Marathi is strictly essential
for the Senior Welfare Officer and Dy. Manager (Welfare) posts, and the exam
will include a specific 25-mark section on the Marathi Language. For the other
engineering, EDP, and administrative posts, it is not listed as an essential
requirement.
Q4: Where
will the online examination be conducted?
Answer:
The examination will be conducted strictly online in designated venues across
Mumbai, Greater Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar areas.
Q5: Can I
apply for more than one post if I have the qualifications?
Answer:
Yes, candidates can apply for more than one post subject to their eligibility.
However, separate online applications must be submitted for each post, along
with separate application fees.
Q6: What
documents are strictly required at the exam center?
Answer:
Candidates must bring their valid Call Letter, an original Photo-identity proof
(like PAN Card, Passport, or Aadhar) bearing exactly the same name as the
application, and a photocopy of that identical ID proof. Ration Cards and
Learner's Licenses will not be accepted.
