Sathya's Special Preparation Strategy to
Crack the IDBI Exam
Looking at the exam pattern
above, you can see that it is very similar to the regular Clerk and PO Mains
exams. If you have taken a break from your studies, now is the perfect time to
clear your basics again. Here is my special preparation strategy for you:
·
The Game Changer (Logical Reasoning & Data Analysis):
Note that Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation carry 60 marks! This is the
most crucial section. Don't just practice easy prelims-level questions. You
need to focus heavily on seating arrangements, puzzles, and basic data
interpretation charts. This will help you score higher marks.
·
General & Banking Awareness: Here lies another 60
marks. In my experience, you can score marks very quickly in Banking Awareness
and current affairs. Start reading daily current affairs immediately. Focus
especially on RBI-related news, banking terminology, static GK, and financial
updates from the last 4 to 5 months.
·
Quantitative Aptitude: With 40 marks to be covered in
just 35 minutes, speed is your best friend here. Make sure to clear your basics
in the "Big 3" key arithmetic chapters: Percentages, Profit &
Loss, and Ratios.
·
English Language: This section might feel a bit
difficult for our Kannada medium students, but don't worry! With 40 questions
in just 20 minutes, reading speed is very important here. Practice Reading
Comprehension every day. Focus on basic grammar rules, error spotting, and
vocabulary. Make it a daily habit to read an English newspaper, and
specifically cultivate the habit of reading the editorials. Write down the
difficult words in a notebook and understand their meanings. This will make it
much easier to score good marks in this section.
My Advice: Do not wait until the last date to apply
(March 19). Apply early, download the syllabus, and start writing mock tests
immediately. Mock tests will teach you time management—it is the only way to
beat that 120-minute timer.
7.
Application Fee
Candidates
must pay the application fee through online mode only using Debit Cards, Credit
Cards, Internet Banking, Wallets, or UPI.

8.

11. Common Mistakes to Avoid While Applying
Many candidates make small errors
that lead to their applications getting rejected. Make sure to avoid these
common mistakes:
- Writing the declaration in
capital letters:
Your handwritten declaration and signature must not be in ALL CAPS. It
must strictly be written in your normal handwriting in English only.
- Uploading smudged or unclear
documents:
If your photograph, signature, or left thumb impression is unclear or
smudged, your application may be outright rejected.
- Submitting multiple
applications:
Do not submit more than one application for a post. If you do, only the
latest completed application will be retained, and the fee paid for the
previous ones will be forfeited.
- Pressing 'Back' or 'Refresh'
during payment:
While your payment is processing, do not press the back or refresh button
on your browser, as this can result in a double charge or a failed
transaction.
- Making mistakes before final
submission:
Take your time to review everything. Absolutely no changes, modifications,
or corrections are permitted after you click the complete registration
button.
- Swapping document uploads: Carefully check that your
photo is uploaded in the designated photo section and your signature in
the signature section. Mismatching these will result in being denied
admission to the exam.
