3. City Intimation Slip vs. E-Call Letter: What’s the Difference?

Many candidates confuse the City Intimation Slip with the final Admit Card. Here is the exact difference:

  • City Intimation Slip: This is simply an advance notice that tells you the Date, Shift, and City of your exam. It is released early so you can book your train or bus tickets and plan your travel. You cannot use this slip to enter the exam hall.
  • E-Call Letter (Admit Card): This is your official entry pass. It contains the exact name and address of your exam center, your Roll Number, and detailed exam day instructions. You must print this document and carry it to the exam center.

4. How to Check the City Intimation Slip (Step-by-Step)

Checking your exam city is quick and easy. Follow these simple steps:

  • Step 1: Open your mobile browser or laptop and visit the official website of your regional RRB.
  • Step 2: Find the link titled "CEN 02/2025: Link for Exam City Intimation Slip for Technician Grade I & III". Or click the Direct link below Given.
  • Step 3: Enter your unique Registration Number and your Date of Birth (as your password), then fill in the captcha.
  • Step 4: Click "Login". Your exam city, date, and shift timing will appear on the screen.

5. How to Download Your RRB Technician E-Call Letter

Your official E-Call Letter will be available exactly 4 days prior to your specific exam date (For example, if your exam is on March 6, you can download it on March 2).

  • Step 1: Visit the same regional RRB website where you checked your city slip. Or click the Direct link below Given
  • Step 2: Click on the active link for "Download E-Call Letter for CBT CEN 02/2025".
  • Step 3: Log in using your Registration Number and Date of Birth.
  • Step 4: Your admit card will be displayed. Click the download icon and save the PDF.
  • Step 5: Take a clear, colored printout to carry to the exam center along with a valid Original Photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN Card, Voter ID) and two passport-size photos.

6. Free Travel Pass for SC / ST Candidates

The Railway Recruitment Board provides a great facility for candidates belonging to the SC and ST categories. If you uploaded your caste certificate during the online application process, you are eligible for Free Sleeper Class Railway Travel.

·       How to avail it: Your "Free Travel Authority" is generated along with your City Intimation Slip.

·       How to book: Take a printout of this slip, your original SC/ST caste certificate, and your original valid Photo ID to your nearest railway station reservation counter to book your free train ticket.

·       Important: You must carry your original caste certificate and original ID card during your train journey, otherwise, you may be fined by the ticket examiner.

8. Important Note: Exam Fee Refund

Did you know that you can get your application fee refunded? The RRB has a strict policy regarding the refund of the examination fee, and it completely depends on your attendance.

·       For General / OBC Candidates: You paid an application fee of ₹500. Out of this, ₹400 (minus bank charges) will be refunded to your bank account.

·       For SC / ST / Female / Ex-Servicemen / EBC Candidates: You paid an application fee of ₹250. The entire ₹250 (minus bank charges) will be refunded to your bank account.

·       The Golden Rule: You MUST attend the CBT exam to get this refund. If you are marked absent on the day of the exam, the RRB will not refund your money. So, make sure you show up!

9. CRITICAL ALERT: Unlock Your Aadhaar Biometrics Before the Exam!

The RRB has issued a strict notice regarding Aadhaar-linked Biometric Authentication at the exam centers. If your Aadhaar biometrics (fingerprints/iris) are locked in the UIDAI system, your authentication will fail, and you could be denied entry to the exam hall.

What you must do before exam day:

·       Check Your Status: Log in to the official myAadhaar portal (myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in) or use the mAadhaar mobile app to check if your biometrics are currently locked.

·       Disable the Lock: If they are locked, you must unlock them before reaching the exam center. It is highly recommended to select "Disable Biometric Lock" rather than just "Unlock".

·       Why Disable? The standard "Unlock" button is only temporary and automatically locks your biometrics again after just 10 minutes! By completely disabling the lock, you ensure a smooth, stress-free attendance process at the exam center. You can easily lock your biometrics again once your exam is successfully completed.
